I just had to share this! My mom and dad came down to celebrate my big 30 birthday! Had a big party Saturday with all my loved ones! Was a lot of fun!
Our family is still, well lets just say we never grow up! Still played party games, and my mom made little treat/goody bags for everyone! i know i know! lol yes i am 30, but it was so much fun!
She surprised me though, i had no idea she was gonna get me a Hoops and Yoyo cake ( i LOVE those guys! they crack me up!) But she managed to find someone ( a friend of a friend i guess) who specially made this adorable cake for me!! isn't it just the cutest thing???

Oh, and Thanks for all the Birthday Wishes!!!

Ok So i am all about cross promoting! I love to feature fellow Etsians on my blog, and in person! So i decided to come up with a fun little contest that involves YOU! What do you win? You ask.... A Handmade Easter!

So if i had the money (and the kids! lol) I would totally do a 100% complete Handmade Easter!
Unfortunetly i dont have any money, and yep kidless! lol in fact this Easter, because i am still sick *cough cough sniffle* it will be just me, the sofa, and good ol netflix!

1. How and when did you first hear about Etsy? And what made you decide to open up shop?

My mother read about Etsy somewhere on the internet and told me I should check it out. So, being the good daughter that I am :D, I did as I was told. And was almost immediately hooked.
I started searching out my craft to see examples of other peoples' work, and was surprised that there really wasn't much by the way of beaded animals. I don't get to do craft shows anymore (It's hard with a 4 year old) so I opened my shop.


2. What do you love most about the things you make?

I am always amazed that I can take a pile of tiny beads and a length of wire, and turn it into a little personality. I'll never forget finishing my first fox. It was love at first sight. Such a sweet little face!
In that aspect, my little Kritters are like my children. I had a terrible time mailing out Gordon the Giraffe, lol.



3. What one piece of advice would you give to other etsy sellers, especially newbies?

Be patient. Because even though you are brilliant, and your craft is amazing and the next "Big Thing", it won't happen over night.
It's a process! Do not get discouraged! And when you do get miffed and disgusted, look to others for advice and help.
Enjoy each sale as a small success, and always be on the lookout for an opportunity to promote yourself. If at all possible wear or use your product, and when someone comments, smile and give them a business card. I get lots of business this way.
Be patient. Be pleasant. Be positive!


4. What is your favorite thing in your shop? or favorite thing to make?

Wow. That is a REALLY hard question! My favorites change daily, and it depends on my mood. I will have to say, I love Eddie the Monkey . He is named after my son, and his bio has a striking resemblance to my son's life, lol.



I also love Sinopa. I actually made two, and I wear him all the time. I love his color and his tail. ;)
As for my favorite thing to make.. That's hard, too.
I really enjoy making the little beaded beads. Because I have fun making them, then sometimes I get to see what other people create, with a little part of me. :)



5. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself running my son back and forth to football, and baseball, and hockey. Possibly with another child, and just enjoying life. I will still have my store, of course, and will be a fabulous success, lol.

6. What is your favorite shop on etsy and why?



I just love MichellesCharmWorld. Where does she find those great little items?! Her store just makes me grin. But honestly, pick just one? Come back tomorrow, and it will be different!
(side note: i agree! love her shop! i met her pre etsy on the other e site! )

7. If money was no object, what item on etsy would you buy?

If money was no object. That's every Etsy addicts dream, now isn't it. I just love the beadedbear's shop. The work is nothing short of awe inspiring. This is my favorite piece.


There is so much going on, the spider web, the cat chasing the blue bird..just amazing.

Let's face it, I would go on an insane spending spree and buy everything from candy to clothing. :)



8. If you could be featured anywhere, what would excite you the most?

I just recently found "Daily Candy", and would be ecstatic to be featured.
