Color Quiz! How Many Can You Name?

32

Just for Fun! How many can you get???

My New Found Addictions (addmittedly)

So lately i have been totally hooked on a couple of Facebook games! I know, so sad! But i dont feel so bad, because it seems i am not the only one! lol In fact, i think my mom is possibly more addicted to one now than i am! (and, she's only been playing for a little over a week!)

Restaurant City is one. Heard of it?? Its so fun! Reminds me of the games like Diner Dash! You basically get to set up and run your own restaurant. You can decorate it anyway you want, hire other friends to work for you as chefs, cleaners, or servers. You can even dress them up! lol You can visit other friends restaurants, trade ingrediants, learn new meals. Obviously the point is to level up, and make the biggest best restaurant! I've been playing this about 2-3 weeks now, and soo hooked. I log on in the morning and make sure everyone is full in energy to work the day and then just let it run while i work or catch up on other things. It's cool too, cause it will run, even if you arent actually playing it.

The other one is Farm Town. Kind of similar to Restaurant City i guess - in that you get your own farm! plant your own seeds, harvest them, hire others to harvest for you, send animals and trees to friends, its really pretty cool. This is the one i got my mom (and dad) hooked on! Its really rather funny too. They just signed up with facebook like 2 weeks ago. so they are still learning the ropes i guess. But i can tell my mom is already hooked (join the club right?) she will even text me on my phone in the morning - can i harvest your farm yet, i need the money! lol She calls my farm neurotic - though i think its neat and orderly! I call hers chaotic!

well... ok here's proof - can you guess whose is whose??

Are you addicted to any games? Apps?? I'd love to hear!!

Oh and i meant to say, if you want to add me as a friend on facebook - you can look me up mel_sunrise@yahoo.com and we can all be addicted together! lol I have lots of my etsy pals on there already!

A Handmade Wedding?

I wonder if its possible to have a totally handmade wedding? So i started looking around on Etsy, and i do believe it is possible! I was amazed to find everything from Wedding Gowns, veils, garters, wedding bands, bouquets, cake toppers, even cakes!

I loved this dress! (By Littleredsparrow)

Ok this one too, by Kalypsochick! lol isn't it cool?? traditional in a sense, but with a bit of flair!

So then i saw the treasury was opening (yes i have been sooo addicted to getting one lately!) so i thought why not do a treasury on an Etsy Wedding!

So Click Here to see it! if i do say so myself, i think it turned out pretty cool!

Now all i need is the guy! lol

Happy Mother's errr Mothering Day!

So ever wonder how or where Mother's Day Originated? I bet you didnt know it was originally called Mothering Day? Well ok, i didnt either til just a few days ago. Found this bit of info on how Mother's day officially began and thought i would pass it on, in honor of my mom and all the great mom's out there!

------------------------

The second Sunday in May has been set aside in honor of motherhood. Many churches have special services in which they honor Mothers of the congregation. They usually present the oldest Mom, youngest Mom, and Mom with the most children a corsage.

There is a custom of wearing a carnation on Mother's Day. A colored carnation means that the person's Mother is living. A white carnation indicates that a person's mom is dead.

Years ago, England observed what they called Mothering Sunday. It came in Mid-Lent.

The first suggestion for a day set aside to honor Mothers was made by Julia Ward Howe. She suggested that it be observed on June 2, as a day dedicated to peace.

Julia was born in 1819 in New York to a prominent family. She was an American writer, lecturer, and reformer. She was known as one of the most famous women of her time. She wrote "The Battle Hymn of the Republic", which was inspired when she visited military camps in Washington, D.C., during the Civil War in 1861. It became the major war song of the Union forces.

Julia became interested in the women's movement. She became the first president of the New England Woman Sufferage Association.

Three years after Frank Hering of Indiana launched his campagin for observance of Mother's Day in 1904, Anna Jarvis began a campaign to a nationwide obervance of Mother's Day. She chose the second Sunday in May. She also began the custom of wearing the carnation.

Jarvis' own Mother was honored on the first service at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton,West Virginia, on May 10, 1908. Later, at the general assembly in 1912, a delegate from Andrews Church introduced a resolution recognizing Jarvis as the founder of Mother's Day, and suggested that Mother's Day be observed on the second Sunday in May.

President Woodrow Wilson signed a joint resolution in Congress on May 9, 1914, recommending that the federal government observe Mother's day. The next year, the president was authorized to proclaim an annual holiday.

♥ Show your mom some love today! And if you are a mom, take some time for you! And Enjoy! And to my mom, Thank you for all the years of always being there! I know it wasn't easy, by any means, but i think we are stronger and closer because of it all! And i wouldn't change that for the world! ♥

Trying Something a Little Different

For as long as i can remember, i have always loved to take pictures. Toting my camera around with me everywhere!

Now, i have never been that great at it! Believe me! But i just love to try!

Especially with flowers and nature. But then with opening my shop on etsy, it seems all my time is spent photographing my items for my shop.

So its been more like work, than for fun, if you know what i mean! And, granted i think i have gotten better over the last year or so.

But i still struggle when it comes to capturing my fiber pieces, verses taking pictures of flowers or landscapes. Why there would be a difference, i have no idea! lol

But, lately, i am getting back into just taking pictures for fun! And i have always loved playing around with photo editing tools, and graphics, and digital imaging.

Again, never really that great at it, but its fun for me. So i thought i would share some with you all and see what you think!

I've toyed with the idea of trying to sell some on Etsy, maybe as cards? or prints? i am not sure yet - Give me your opinions! would you ever buy anything like these?
