Treasure Hunters Wanted!!

So i previously mentioned to check back here for more details about the upcoming 4th of July Treasure Hunt on Etsy!
Well It's this weekend!!
Here's the details!
There are 16 shops participating ( as of right now)

It will begin 10am Friday, June 26th and end 10am Monday, June 29th.

Anyone can play, anyone can win!

Each shop will be hiding this cartoon in at least one of their listings (by the way a good friend DoctorKazoo made this for me, its a patriotic throw a fit doll! don't you love it!! )


Or this phrase in an item description- "One nation, under etsy, for liberty, and justice for all handmade".


Some shops will have multiple treasures to find!

You must find them all in order for a chance to win! And then convo me the item links.

All who enter will win a chance at 16 awesome prizes and fantastic deals!

We will be running a thread in Promos during this time, to keep up the chatter, and offer anyone stopping by great deals in our shops! So even if you don't want to play (but who wouldn't!) you still might find a great deal you cant pass up and do some shopping!!

Fan Me Please!

So it was 105 yesterday..... And I have no A/C! lol Been out for 2 days now. Supposed to be another scorcher tomorrow too. I have great maintenance guys, but it is the weekend, and apparently the whole unit has to be replaced. So could be Monday, Tuesday before its fixed, and we are under heat warnings! Yea, did i mention me and heat do not mix well?? lol Fun fun! sooooo trying to think cool thoughts and found these pretty cool fans on etsy!

I just loved this one! So fun, colorful. I have never seen a crocheted fan before! If i wasnt so hot, i'd give it a try! But for now, i'll just admire! Colorful Crochet Fan by Seaandlighthouse

The Ties That Bind

So i set out to get a treasury today! And yay! I snagged one! I had this title all read - The Ties That Bind - And i was thinking of doing something fun and colorful with it, maybe have it represent family - as in family ties that bind us together. Wordle

Wanted to share a fun little site with you all called Wordle! I discovered it a little while back, its kind of cool. You can simply type in words - any words and it kind of creates a word picture for you. You can also put in poems, stories, your blog posts even and it will transform them! Play with the fonts, colors, layouts. It's kind of neat!

Princess Leyla

Just had to share this one photo with you all! From earlier tonight- we had a small family birthday party for my stepgrandma Leyla who turned 80 on friday. Here she is, in all her Princess Glory! lol Isn't she cute!

Happy Birthday!

My StepGrandma, Leyla, Turned 80 today! So just a quick post in her honor!



I never knew my mom's mom. She passed away when i was just 8, and she suffered from alzheimers for years before that. Leyla Married Gramps well before i was even born, so she was, in all said and terms, my grandma! (though funny i always just called her leyla - we all do! lol).


I have been so thankful to have moved here 8 years ago to be close to all my mom's family - aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents! It was like getting to know them all over again.


I have been so blessed in so many ways to get to live here, and be around them for these past few years. Something i will never forget and always cherish! In a way, i brought us all together again. My mom got to reconnect with her dad, my uncle ended up moving back here as well. It was like the whole family came together again. So many memories, stories, moments.




It saddens me to think this will be the last birthday party we are all together. So many changes are coming apon us. Changes i dont think i can even fathom at this moment. But they are bound to happen. But, for the moment, for this last week, i am going to relish in the joy that is my family. I am going to cherish these last precious days we will all be one together. We are going to celebrate Leyla's birthday like we celebrate all birthdays - in style!


So here's to you, Leyla! It's your special day! And, no one can take that from you!



I will have to put up a post bday picture later in her princess tiara that i bought her - did i mention it lights up? lol

Conversation Starter

Ok so i usually keep things a bit light and fun on here. But after having a few of my knitting friends over yesterday, well i haven't been able to get our conversation out of my head. So let me pose you these two questions.

Do animals have a soul?

One of my friends was very much against the thought that an animal could have a soul. I don't believe she's ever owned a pet or really cared much for animals - which is why i think she's never experienced the love, and emotions a pet can truly give you, or for that fact another animal. I, and my other friend, however, greatly feel that animals indeed have such great depth to them. How could they not have a soul?

The conversation made me think of one particular incident from my childhood. I always had pet rabbits. We let them roam freely in the backyard - had a huge hutch my dad built for shelter. (could never cage them up! poor bunnies) anyway, i had this pair - 2 males (though we didnt figure that out til years later! lol) but anyway, they grew up together. Named them Alpha and Centauri . They lived a long life - i would say 10-12 years. One day i found Centauri, he couldnt walk/jump anymore and discovered he had severerly cut his leg that paralyzed him. Major infections. Just wasnt good. After hearing the vet said - well what all pet owners hate to hear, i knew what had to be done. I held on to him one last time and could just feel him let go in my arms, could feel him say it was ok. i know maybe i just wanted to feel it, but i did! But thats no the end of the story. Alpha, who now is left behind, totally went through mourning. He would just sit out by his tree day and night, not eat, not move. You could tell he was sad beyond belief. And within a month he too passed away. Not because he was ill, but because of a broken heart. Now, how can you say they dont have emotions, feelings, and even a soul? At least with my experiences thats how i feel.

Fun with Animations Part Deux!

So a few days ago i posted a couple of fun animations i did (see post below) from the site xtranormal.com and said if anyone linked me one they created i would feature it here!

Fun with Animations!

Ok, so a friend on Myspace made this pretty funny animation on this site called xtranormal.com and I just had to give it a try!

It's actually fairly easy to use. It gives you all the steps, to choose your characters, backdrop, sounds and such. And, then you just write the script, add in your camera angles, and poses, or facial expressions - hit ACTION and then they set up like a movie! lol It's really cool!! So i thought i would share it all with you, my creative friends!

So this is my first attempt - i just used a joke i knew, and put in a "talk show" type setting... see what you think!

And, then I did this one earlier - thought it was kind of funny! The only hard thing about this site is you can't really convey inflections! So you kind of have to imagine. But, it's great for dry humor! lol

So i love the treasuries - don't you?? but i sure wish they had a search feature on it! I would love to search for certain topics or colors to find certain treasuries- wouldn't that be fun!
