And 2nd Place Goes toooooooo

Ok so i am a little delayed on this, due to a lot of family issues and events going on... (won't go into now!) But without further ado! Let me announce that the 2nd Place Winner of the Spring Themed Contest was awarded to Susanschrock !!! yay! Congrats Susan! And, as a part of her prize, she gets her own feature here on my blog!

By the way, this was her entry!

Cute, right??

Ok, so i asked Susan several questions, about her, her shop, and well just stuff! I hope you enjoy! And take a stroll through her shop! She has something everyone can use and would want!

1. How and when did you first hear about Etsy? And what made you decide to open up shop?
I heard about Etsy from my friend Bethany, who opened up a shop in late 2007. I was her first customer! As the recipient of several of my handmade greeting cards, she encouraged me to open my open shop on Etsy. I'm so glad she did.

2. What do you love most about the things you make?
I really love making custom items for the special occasions in people's lives, such as wedding favor bags or shower invitations. I feel like I'm helping make a keepsake for those special moments.

3. What one piece of advice would you give to other etsy sellers, especially newbies?
Give the trading forums a try! You might not be making money off those transactions, but you are getting exposure for your shop as well as positive feedback. Plus, it's a great way to treat yourself with other shop's handmade items.

4. What is your favorite thing in your shop? or favorite thing to make?
My favorite thing to make is the custom glassine favor bags. I haven't seen anything else like them on Etsy and they can be used for a variety of purposes, from party favors to packaging for handmade items.

5. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I hope to have a handful of boutiques that I regularly supply greeting cards and stationery to.

6. What is your favorite shop on etsy and why?
I have so many favorite shops on Etsy, especially jewelry and soap makers. Among my favorites: sunbasilgarden, concordsoap, Hestiahouseworks, lucie39, sarahinflorida and knotartWA.

7. If money was no object, what item on etsy would you buy?
I'd buy a closet full of Amy Butler purses from Etsy!

8. If you could be featured anywhere, what would excite you the most?
I'd love to be featured in Paper Crafts magazine or perhaps Better Homes and Gardens.

So i hope you all enjoyed our visit with Susan from Susanschrock and take a peek in her shop! You just might find something you cant live without!!
